Welcome to my Photosite dedicated to the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, a 7 mile long, (10 km), 15 inch gauge railway located in the Lake District, Cumbria, halfway between Barrow-in-Furness and Whitehaven
Wedding Specials, lots of trackwork and neigbouring lakes are themes for the latest pictures

The train service starts again next weekend!

(New early departure time from Ravenglass & Dalegarth during March, April, May, September and October on the green coloured timetable).
The train service re-commences again this coming WEEKEND! Saturday 13th February 2010
Trains will run daily during "local schools" half term, from Monday 15th to Friday 19th 2010 thereafter they will run at weekends only until Sunday 14th March
From Saturday March 20th 2010 the trains will run DAILY until October 31st 2010
Remember! Buy a "combined" British Rail/Ravenglass & Eskdale Rly ticket from any UK station or conductor and save £3 per adult (£1-50 per child) on the joint fare. Sorry - not available on Sundays.

Ever wanted to be a Station Master or a Guard?
The R&ER are always looking for volunteers to man a station or train as a guard, also train preparation teams which is ideal for a family group, or even assist the track gang maintaining the track!
Certain restrictions apply regarding age limits and mobility.
